We stayed at the Royal last night just the one night in princess quarters. People had complained having no hot water, which we took baths last night and showers this morning hot water was absolutely fine. We also read reviews that noise was a problem from the weatherspoons pub as so close noise still at 2.30am, we went to bed on a Saturday night at 12.30 no noise at all quiet all night. Room was lovely and clean , only thing if your staying longer bring some extra hangers which I always do. Staff very polite and friendly breakfast was beautiful no complaints at all . Thank you for a lovely stay

I booked this as a surprise night away for me and my wife after we saw it on a TV programme. We had room 117 which is the King Quarters and is directly above the Weatherspoons courtyard. My wife loved everything about the stay, the room, the view, breakfast in the restaurant and especially the jacuzzi bath. In the evening we got fish and chips and sat on the balcony to eat just watching the world go by. There was obviously a bit of noise from the Weatherspoons below but we knew that would be the case but it wasn't too bad. So much so that we were able to sleep with the doors to the balcony open. All in all a fantastic stay and definitely something we'd do again.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel. We first came here in February for my husband's birthday, and we had a fantastic time staying in the Empress quarters (room 106). We loved it so much that we booked again for our wedding anniversary in April. Unfortunately, due to a bereavement in the family, we had to postpone our trip, but the hotel staff immediately rearranged our stay at no extra cost to this weekend just gone. We stayed in room 106 again which is the best room in the house. We had a relaxing time in the jaccuzi bath, and despite the hot, muggy weather outside, we were kept comfortable by the aircon. The room is on the far corner which is right above the restaurant, but despite the noise from downstairs and the Wetherspoons next door, when we closed the balcony doors it did keep a lot of the sound out. If you want complete silence you won't get that here on a Saturday night, but it really isn't that bad with the doors closed. Everything shut down a lot earlier than we expected and we had a lovely comfortable night's sleep on both nights. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. We didn't try the restaurant out on our first trip because we had a table booked for the Black Rock Restaurant (also 5 stars and highly recommend), so this time round we made sure to have dinner there. The meal at the greek restaurant was amazing. We will 100% be returning soon. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the bars and arcades. Everything is within walking distance. The only downside is that the parking to the rear of the hotel is not owned by the hotel. it was £12 for 24 hours so we ended up paying £28 for parking, but we didn't have to wait ages for a space to become available. I can imagine it may be more difficult once term has ended and everyone goes on holiday.

I arrived at this hotel on a Fri for a 2 night stay with some apprehension due to negative reviews however I was pleasantly surprised. Reception was welcoming and effecient.I had a room in the duchess quarter which I was lucky enough to have a side sea view. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and a nice bathroom with toiletries.Bed was comfy. I didnt experience any noise issues from the adjacent pub but my room was on the other side of the building,I can appreciate this may be an issue if directly above it. Breakfast both mornings was superb and the ladies serving tables were so helpful and obliging . The position of the hotel right opposite the pier cant be faulted and I will def be back.
